Games That You Should Bet On In This 2018 FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup in Russia has been full of drama until now and has not failed to deliver in terms of entertainment value. There have been major upsets, as well as strong displays from lesser teams. The biggest upset would have to be the bowing out of defending champions Germany, who not only didn’t qualify but ended their group rock bottom, following their humiliating defeat to South Korea. With the knockout stage underway, there are a number of mouth-watering encounters to look forward to. Some of these fixtures could be tight and could go either way, while others might be slightly easier to predict. Discussed below, are some of these fixtures.

Belgium v Japan

The Red Devils played a second string side in their final group match against England and still looked comfortable enough to see out the win. Roberto Martinez managed to rest the core of his team, with Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard, and Romelu Lukaku all sitting it out. They will be well rested and raring to go against the Japanese, with a berth in the quarterfinals in sight. Japan, on the other hand, qualified for the next round based on fair play, despite losing their final group game against Poland. Betting odds are set at 4/11 for a Belgium win, and 17/2 for the Japanese to qualify for the next round.

England v Colombia

Gareth Southgate was also able to rest the core of his team in the final match of the group stage, with Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, Jordan Henderson, Kieran Trippier and Ashley Young all getting a rest. Colombia, on the other hand, may be without their talisman James Rodriguez, who was brought off against Senegal with an ankle injury. Betting odds are set at 11/10 for an English win, and 29/10 for the South Americans to qualify.

Croatia v Denmark

It would be easy to say that Croatia has been the best team at the FIFA World Cup till now, with a perfect record in the group stage, conceding just once. Modric and co. have been brilliant to say the least, and they appear to be clear favorites against the Danes. Betting odds are set at 9/10 for a Croat win, and 21/5 for the Danes to advance.
