What's Happening In The First Week Of Italy Series A

The Italy Series A is back and running as many fans are eager to see the summer signings in action. Moreover, with some drastic changes happening, it will be interesting to see in what shape the league will be early on. With the champions Juventus under the helm of Maurizio Sarri, there are many questions that this Ronaldo led team need to answer.

Additionally, the return of Antonio Conte in league with Inter Milan will surely bring more competitiveness in the league. And after the first two weeks have passed, it is important to analyze this early stage of the season in Italy Series A.

Chiellini Still Top Class

One of the first notable happenings in the Italy Series A was the commanding presence of Georgio Chiellini. On that note, it is important to emphasize that the 35-year-veteran still looks fit as a fiddle and capable of commanding the line at the highest level for Juventus. El Capitano reached a personal milestone as his winning goal against Parma was his first ever on the opening match week of Italy Series A football. Combined with the return of Bonnuci, Juve got the world's best defensive tandem. And with former Ajax skipper Matthijs de Ligt in the bench, the defensive line for the Old Lady looks quite strong.

Christiano Ronaldo is another veteran of the game who, like Chiellini, is showing no signs of aging. The Portuguese international was extremely unlucky not to score against Parma. However, he managed to open his account with a fine finish against Napoli in game two of the season.

The Viola Did it Again

Throughout the years, Fiorentina has been the team that developed some of the best young talents in the Serie A. It seems that this season will be no different as Fiorentina fielded a starting XI with an average age of 23 years and 188 days against Napoli opening day. Moreover, this was they're their youngest line-up in over 25 years, with 19-year-old Dusan Vlahovic leading the line. Also, with Vincezo Montella back in commanding, the Viola has an excellent chance to be a dark horse in the Serie A this season.

However, Napoli managed to score four past them to give a boost to the title hopes of the experienced strategists Carlo Ancelotti. And with Insigne fit and ready for the new season, Napoli has a good chance to challenge for the Scudetto this season. The pint-sized forward directly contributed to all four of Napoli's goals on Saturday against the Viola, including scoring a match-winning goal to secure an impressive opening away victory.

As for the Milan based teams, it seems that both giants are still asleep. AC Milan has poorly started 2019/20, suffering an opening match defeat to Udinese. Also, the Rossoneri failed to find the back of the net in the process. And it is safe to say that it was not the start that new manager Giampaolo would have wanted.

As for their rivals, Inter Milan seems to be enjoying a good start of the season after two convincing wins in the first two games of the season. With Lukaku joining and Conte on the helm, combined with serious investments in the team, the Neroazuri are expected to be right up there challenging for the top.

All in all, the Serie A brings a lot more excitement this season. And with the likes of Maurizio Sarri, Lukaku and Antonio Conte back in the league, the level of competitiveness is high as ever.
