The Top Transfers In 2018 Summer Transfer Window

With the summer transfer window closing in the coming weeks and with the premier league just around the corner, there have been some pretty big transfers this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo

This July, it was announced that the Real Madrid forward had been transferred to Juventus for £99.2 million, making it one of the biggest, and most shocking transfers this season. After nine years, the Portuguese star decided that it was finally time for him to leave. In an open letter to his fans, he described his time with Madrid as quite possibly happiest years of his life, but also feels that the time has come to begin a new stage in his life.

Having scored 450 goals in 438 matches during his time with Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has given Juve fans a new sense of hope this season, as reports show that people are paying up to 6x the regular ticket price, to watch him play.

Jorginho

It was speculated that Napoli’s midfielder Jorginho was to be signed to Manchester City, with his agent stating that a £43 million deal could happen at any moment. Instead, the Italian International has chosen to side with Chelsea instead, for a five-year contract, possibly to stay close to Maurizio Sarri, the ex-Napoli manager, who was recently appointed as Chelsea’s new manager, following Antonio Conte’s dismissal earlier this July. It is reported that the club made a combined payment of £57 million for the two. He consistently has had the highest passes and passes accuracy in Europe last season.

Jorginho is reportedly “ecstatic” to be a part of The Blues, and is “excited to play in such an intense league.”

Alisson Becker

After a bidding battle with Chelsea, Liverpool confirmed that Alisson Becker, Roma’s goalkeeper, has been transferred to their team for £65 million. The 25-year-old is all set to join Jurgen Klopp and The Reds. Klopp has had his eye on Becker for a while now, who he considers being “one of the world’s best goalkeepers” and has finally managed to bag him for himself. The Brazillian played an integral part in getting Roma to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year. This deal is a record-breaking one, currently making Becker the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, Bringing Liverpool’s total summer expenditure up to £170 million.
