Eden Hazard: The World's Best Player 2018 - 2019

Taking into consideration Chelsea’s underwhelming performance under Conte’s leadership, no one would have expected them to do so well this Premier League season. The Blues have had an incredibly impressive opening, and to their fans’ delight, have managed to snatch a place in the top four. If they keep up their current form, it is very likely that they will stay up there. The team, in no small extent, owe their success to none other than Ballon d'Or nominee Eden Hazard.

There are a handful of players in the realm of modern football that are currently as consistent as Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. Over his professional career, he has won numerous awards, including the PFA award and the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association in 2105, and has earned nods of approval from some experts. Several hold him up to the standard of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and firmly believe that he is the best player in the world right now, and Eden Hazard certainly has the stats to back up that claim, although he doesn’t seem to think so.

The Belgian winger has already scored six goals in just seven appearances this Premier League and even managed a hattrick against Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge. He could very easily bag the player of the month award this September. He is in peak form, and his recent performance against Liverpool is a testament to that. His spectacular goal at Anfield resulted in the Reds being knocked out of the Carabao Cup and has since brought Eden Hazard much deserved much deserved praise and attention. Eden Hazard has also contributed to Chelsea’s unbeaten streak in the Europa League. Since the start of his career with them in 2012, he has racked up more than 95 goals overall.

Apart from his brilliant skills on the field, he has the rep of being a team player. His teammate Ross Barkley confirmed this, stating that Eden Hazard is far from selfish, and plays for the benefit of the team, rather than for himself.

Eden Hazard is currently in the best form of his career so far, and if he keeps this up, he could surpass his 16 goal league record. Sarri reportedly believes that he can score 40 goals.
